Texas Trip to The Russells

Another trip to visit Bob and Lorraine Russell in Haslet, Texas, was great, as usual.

We helped Bob celebrate his 70th birthday by, what else, eating out. We were joined by Bob & Lorraine's son, Darryl, and his family.

Also, we checked out our normal local favorite sites such as The Apple Computer Store at Southlake Town Square, Half-Price Books, Whole Foods Market, and Central Market. A jaunt to the Trader's Village Flea Market in Grand Prairie was on a rainy day, but the market was not too great anyhow.

A nice surprise was our discovery that Texas is now providing wireless, high-speed internet access at their rest stops on the Interstate. The ride home was partly through very heavy rain which presented its challenges. The motels in Monroe, LA, where we usually stay, were filled with workers who had escaped the deluge (as much as 14 inches just north of where we were driving). But we finally found a Jameson Inn in Vicksburg, MS, and the remainder went OK.
