Long Branch Opry - Dailey & Vincent

Once again the opening act was a few numbers by the local young group Freshwater Creek. They just get better every time we see them and it's wonderful to see their talents blossom. They are always a favorite of the audience.

Canaan's Crossing is a hometown group that got their start here at the Opry about 10 years ago.

A couple of the members have changed over the years, but the focus remains the same. Tina Miller on the fiddle learned to play at age 5 and is remarkable (she also wears her hair black these days). The two newest members, John Palmer (mandolin) and Drew Long (banjo), are both 18 years old, but are true professionals. Tim Maze on the bass and Andy Wilks, guitar, were in the original group and still sound great. All of the members provide fine vocals. They gave a solid performance.

Dailey and Vincent were new to us, but the members each have distinctive backgrounds. They gave a magnificent performance! (Click the picture for a larger image.)

Lead Jamie Dailey has a wonderful voice, especially in the tenor range. Darrin Vincent (mandolin, bass, guitar, lead and harmony vocals) started singing at age three and playing music at age six as part of his family band, The Sally Mountain Show, along with sister Rhonda Vincent. His talent as an entertainer is tops. Christian Davis (not pictured) with his booming bass vocals began to sing at age three, and throughout his childhood he learned to play various instruments. Christian just joined the band on January after they discovered him on youTube. He was a real crowd favorite. Jeff Parker on mandolin is another real entertainer and comic. Jesse Stockman started playing fiddle at age 8, and went on to become New Mexico State Fiddle Champion four years in a row. He still wows folks. They performed for almost two hours and their harmony was as good as it gets! They rank with the best band we have ever heard, anywhere.
