Long Branch Opry - Hurricane Creek

Prior to the regular show we enjoyed several songs by the Arab FFA Quartet. That was followed by a performance by the Arab FFA String Band, which recently won a state-wide competition.

Arab High School FFA String Band: Mikayla Clark, Candice McCrackin, Erin Smith, Andrew Walker, Jacob Moody, Josh Black and Houston Barbee. They were a crowd favorite.

Then it was time for Sunday Tradition, a North Alabama bluegrass gospel group.
Sunday Tradition.
The members are (left to right): Daniel Sampson (Mandolin, Tenor Vocals), David Williams (Bass), Steve McCulloch (Guitar, Vocals), Steven Smiley (Dobro), and Roger Jones (Banjo, Guitar, and Baritone Vocals). They are all excellent musicians and Steve McCulloch's vocals are magnificent. It was also nice to see a full-time dobro player for a change.

The other main act was Hurricane Creek, who we have seen before. They are another North Alabama group based in Decatur.

The members are: Stacy Richardson (mandolin and baritone vocals) on the left; Anthony Bailey (banjo and tenor) on the right; Stan Nelson (lead singer and guitarist); and Stan's wife, Phyllis on the upright bass. They are a great bunch of entertainers and played a wide variety of music. We always enjoy their playing and singing.

The evening closed out with all the groups taking the stage for a grand finale of several songs featuring each of the players. A good time was had by all!
