Long Branch Opry - Welcome Back

As we entered the Long Branch Opry house the first folks we met were old friends from the previous era. It was a great beginning to a wonderful evening.

The opening act was Freshwater Creek, a local group of kids age 11 through 13. And we really enjoyed their performance. Every member of the band got to display their talent and all were warmly welcomed by the appreciative audience. We've never seen an entire band of kids this age do this well. They have a great future if they decide to pursue their music.

The main act was Mountain Heart, a well-known bluegrass group that we have never seen previously. All of these guys are highly polished and competent musicians. They played a wide assortment of songs ranging from country rock to bluegrass gospel, with a few tunes we did not know. The sound system did not complement their performance and at times they couldn't make up their mind what to do next. It was an OK show, but I'm certain they have done better.

The next show date for the Opry is April 17 and we plan to be there.
