Update on Barbara

After quite a hassle Barbara elected to cancel the Intravenous immunoglobulin treatment. The insurance company would not cover it entirely and the cost would have been $600 per day. And since this would be repeated every month or so it would get out of hand quickly. But the real reason was a lot of research indicated the treatment was really not that effective. Doctor Morgan took 12 vials of blood for extensive tests, to include vitamin levels. These came back mostly positive, but he did give her a Vitamin B12 injection and she got them weekly for the next month. She also had an ultrasound, which came back great. The next doctor visit is this coming week.

Barbara has more energy lately and less fatigue. Balance is still the main issue along with some walking problems and a bit of speech impairment (mostly just after the prednisone is taken).
