Long Branch - Larry Stephenson Band

It was off to the local Long Branch Opry for an evening of music and we were treated to a beautiful sunset on the way to the picturesque setting.

Long Branch Quartet
The Long Branch Quartet opened the show and they were in fine form. The local group, headed by Opry owner Charlie Short, always performs well, but this was the best we've ever seen them. Charlie's daughter (Kelly), son (Wade on the right), and "Uncle Earl" (on the left) were all in great voice and their timing was exceptional.

The Larry Stephenson Band has a great resume, which they didn't live up to on this appearance. All of the members are good musicians and Larry has a fine, high voice, but they didn't pull it all together as a team. The second set was better, however, many of the listeners departed early. Every group has a bad night and maybe this was their's; we won't know since they aren't on our "must-see list."
