A nice, cool spring evening for a trip to the local Long Branch Opry. It was a sold-out crowd and we were well entertained.

• 
  Leroy Troy and Robert Montgomery opened the show with their down-home humor and some wonderful, old songs. Both are excellent instrumentalists on guitar and banjo in addition to being good singers. Leroy also dazzled the audience by twirling his banjo and never missing a beat.
• Hurricane Creek is a local favorite from Somerville, Alabama, and they were in perfect form. It all came together for the 4 piece band: guitarist & lead singer, Stan Nelson; bass, Stan’s wife Phyllis; Casey Culwell on banjo; and Anthony Bailey on mandolin. Their fast numbers were flawless and the selection of songs covered the spectrum.
